compass-and-cam

Apple certainly knows how to make a killer gadget. iPhone 1.0 was a cool phone. iPhone 3G was much better and improved in a whole lot of areas. The next iPhone, which is expected to be introduced at WWDC, is rumored to have been improved in a whole lot of areas. There will more likely be a video camera on the new phone, and the GPS functionality has been improved as well. In fact, the new iPhone can easily compete with your good old GPS from Garmin or Navigon.

Here are GPS improvements many experts expect to see with the new iPhone:

  • Compass: Apple is expected to introduce a built-in compass for the new iPhone. That will make it easier for iPhone owners to find their way around and get back on the right track.
  • Turn by Turn Directions: Apple will now make it easier for iPhone owners to find their way around their cities. You will get turn by turn directions from your iPhone, making your phone an even more attractive mobile GPS.
  • Location Identification: here is something you don’t see in any GPS system on the market. Pass your iPhone 4G a photo, and it can automatically identify where it is using Google Maps. That is going to revolutionize the GPS industry as GPS maps get more closer to the real thing.

Apple has changed many industries with its iPhone, and it seems the GPS industry will be changed forever with Apple poised to make iPhone the top mobile GPS device on the market. And that’s based on what we know from the experts. Who knows what other surprises Apple will have for us all at WWDC!
