I have always wondered why Laser Detectors are allowed to be sold online, but apparently they are. So if you have trouble staying under the speed limit and want to avoid a ticket, you may want to try your hand with laser detectors. They may cost you some money but considering that you will be saving money by avoiding those $100+ tickets, these laser detectors are all worth it.
I recently started shopping for a laser detector and did a comprehensive research to find out the best ones on the market. Thankfully, there are a lot to choose from. Here are 10 laser/radar detectors that help you avoid those hefty tickets:

Cobra XRS 9970G Voice Alert Radar and Laser Detector: a 15 band radar/ laser detector that provides you with a long detection range and can detect speed guns fast as well. Has a very easy to use interface and offers voice alerts and plenty of other tools for the road.

Escort Passport SRX Radar Detector & Laser Defense System: a complete defense system against all kinds of radar and laser monitoring systems on the road. This unit is equipped with laser sensors and is immune to detector detectors as well.

Valentine One Radar Detector: a heavy duty radar detector that detects X, K, Ka, and Super Wideband Ka. If you are caught with this, there is something wrong with you!

Escort Solo S2 Cordless Radar and Laser Detector: Provides extreme long-range warning on all radar bands including X, K, superwide Ka, and instant-on POP mode, along with 360-degree laser protection. Not cheap by any means but gives you a good chance to avoid those tickets.

Beltronics Pro GX65 Radar Detector: a great gadget if you want a comprehensive solution that alarms you when you are living dangerously on the road. The speed cam database is a big plus that helps you avoid those nasty cameras.

K.A.T. TRAXX 3-Axis Accelerometer with Radar and Laser Detector: Over 3 miles of radar detection range, and over 2 miles of laser detection range helps you avoid the most sophisticated laser machines. Its laser scrambler disables all laser speed measurement devices. This is one killer detector.

Beltronics V940 Vector Radar/laser Detector: another cool laser detector that lets you drive and stay aware of those laser speed machines.

Escort Passport 9500ix Radar/Laser Detector: an interesting laser detector that comes with auto learning feature that helps you recognize false alarms fast.

Whistler XTR-140 Laser/Radar Detector: this is more of a budget friendly laser detector. A lot of folks don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on a detector. It does the job but doesn’t come with those fancy features. It won’t cost you more than $50.

Adaptiv TPX Motorcycle Radar/ Laser Detector: designed for motorcycles. It detects laser and radar bands and visually alerts you.
A lot of new GPS models are integrating some of these features, but if you have some of those older models and have trouble staying under the speed limit, you may want try the above detectors. For me, it’s not about avoiding tickets. It’s about getting alerts when I am speeding. Sometimes you don’t realize you are going over the speed limit. These gadgets can help you stay under the limit and drive in a safer fashion. It does help that they help you avoid those tickets too.
Your take: what’s your favorite laser detector?
