A lot of folks have been using iPhone as a GPS in their cars. You can always get a good iPhone car mount and a GPS application for iPhone to help you find your way around your location. But that was before TomTom decided to pursue the iPhone market aggressively. By taking advantage of iPhone 3.0 OS, TomTom has come up with a killer GPS application that will provide you with turn by turn direction, hands free calls, and text to speech capability to provide you with an easy way to get to your destination.

The new iPhone 3G S is designed to be used as a mobile GPS. It does come with more navigation features to make it easy for owners to find their way around. But with TomTom for iPhone, you’ll now have a phone that can provide you with accurate information without you needing to carry a separate GPS device.

TomTom is not the only player in this market. Garmin has also announced that it’s planning to enter the iPhone GPS market. Mobile GPS solutions are on the rise, and more people prefer to use GPS solutions that are compact and portable. iPhone is an mp3 player, a phone, a multimedia player, an Internet gadget, and a video camera. Why not use it as your GPS too?
